Over the past day, 12 new laboratory-confirmed cases of coronavirus have been detected in South Ossetia, Chief Sanitary Doctor of the Republic Marina Kochieva told IA"Res" on Thursday.
"During the day, 34 tests were carried out, 12 - showed a positive result. These are 10 citizens of our Republic and two Russian servicemen," she said.
In total, according to her, for the entire period of the pandemic on the morning of October 8, 123 cases of coronavirus were registered, since the day the restrictions on the border with the Russian Federation were lifted (September 15) - 33.
Some of the coronavirus patients are being treated in the "red zone" of the infectious diseases hospital, the rest - on an outpatient basis.
Since April of this year, more than 5.7 thousand tests for COVID-19 have been carried out in the laboratory of the Committee.
The chief sanitary doctor has noted that the situation with the increase in the incidence of coronavirus in the Republic was expected and reminded of the importance of observing the mask and disinfection regime.
