The OSCE, the UN and the EU co-chairs of the Geneva Discussions, who arrived in South Ossetia on Tuesday, have visited the settlement of Uista (Tsnelis) in Znaur district of the Republic.
At the briefing, Presidential Envoy for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev has told reporters that the members of the delegation met with the local population, which expressed concern about the presence of the Georgian post near the village.
“We showed the co-chairs how close the Georgian post is to the South Ossetian village and how far it is from the Georgian village of Chorchana. Local residents expressed their concern about this fact, and I think that the members of the delegation received important information today for thinking about how to intensify the Geneva process,” said Dzhioev.
According to him, “the local residents showed the co-chairmen their houses, the houses of their relatives, which they cannot enter because of the Georgian post, due to the ever-present threat, as well as the shots that are being fired."
