South Ossetia handed over the violator of the state border to the Georgian side

The authorities of South Ossetia, due to the expiration of the term of serving the sentence, handed over the violator of the border to the Georgian side.

"On June 17, due to the expiration of the term of serving the sentence, Lasha Aleksandrovich Khetereli, born in 1998, resident of the village of Shaumyan, Marneuli municipality, was handed over to the Georgian side," the press service of the South Ossetian KGB says.

The press service has noted that the said citizen of Georgia was detained on June 30, 2020 in the vicinity of the settlement of Otreu Tskhinval districy for violation of the regime of the State border of South Ossetia.

"By the decision of the Tskhinval District Court Khetereli LA was found guilty of committing a crime under Article 322 of the RF Criminal Code" Illegal Crossing of the State Border "and sentenced to one year in prison," the report reads.

The State Security Committee has noted that earlier this offender was repeatedly detained for similar offenses and was subjected to administrative and criminal liability with subsequent expulsion from the Republic.
