“The Day of Remembrance and Mourning is annually marked both in Russia and in South Ossetia, on this day, June 22, exactly 80 years ago, German troops crossed the border of the USSR and, without declaring war, attacked Soviet cities - Kiev, Minsk, Riga, Sevastopol and others. This year, the action will take place at 20.00 at the Eternal Flame, and will be attended by the leadership of the Republic, the Russian Embassy in South Ossetia, parliamentary deputies and the public. “In memory of the perished, the action participants will be able to light candles from a lump delivered from the grave of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow and honor the memory with a nationwide minute of silence.
