In Tskhinval, on Sunday, has been paid last tribute to the outstanding state and public figure of South Ossetia Boris Chochiev. He died at the age of 64 in the intensive care unit of the Vladikavkaz hospital from the consequences of coronavirus infection.

The funeral meeting was opened by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement Murat Dzhioev.
“Boris Eliozovich has lived a short life, but he managed to do a lot, leaving behind a bright and significant trace. Even the enemies of the Ossetian people respected him for his activities and firm position. He was always ready to help and was helping everyone who turned to him. Boris Chochiev will always live in our hearts,” said Dzhioev.
Chairman of the North Ossetian regional branch of the All-Russian Public Organization of Veterans of War, Labor, Military Service and Law Enforcement Agencies Kazbek Friev said that Ossetia has suffered a great loss with the dearth of Boris Chochiev.
Former head of the South Ossetian government Domenti Kulumbegov has noted that Boris Chochiev always defended the interests of his people and was a patriot of the Republic. "His life path will be an example of true service to his Fatherland ...".
