Eight patients with COVID-19 have been hospitalized in the "red zone" of the Republican Multidisciplinary Medical Center of South Ossetia (RMMC) over the past day, the head physician of the hospital Indira Bichenova told the IA "Res".

"As of July 31, 90 patients are being treated in the" red zone "of the medical center. Two of them are in the intensive care unit with a severe form of viral pneumonia and concomitant cardiovascular pathology," the agency's interlocutor said.

Since the beginning of May, free vaccination of the population against coronavirus by the Russian "Sputnik V" has been taking place in the Republic, residents of the Republic can get vaccinated daily seven days a week in the morning.

About 800 people in the Republic were vaccinated against coronavirus, 519 people were fully vaccinated.
