The scenario of a military solution to the issue of Abkhazia and South Ossetia has not left the political agenda of NATO and Georgia, President of Abkhazia Aslan Bzhania told reporters in Tskhival, commenting on the exercises conducted in neighboring Georgia with the participation of these countries.
“We will also draw appropriate conclusions. I would like everything to be in a peaceful way, but here they do not give a choice.
We ourselves are preparing for the possible consequences of such exercises, we are doing very serious work to study the military potential of the NATO bloc and the armed forces of Georgia.
Unfortunately, no one drew the right conclusions,” Bzhania said.
According to him, the regular exercises held in Georgia run counter to their so-called aspirations to establish confidence-building measures.
“It doesn't fit well with guns and warships. Therefore, we see their face, their true intentions. Let's see where this will lead. But the readiness to be fully armed is the only measure that we will take,” the President of Abkhazia noted.
The head of the South Ossetian state, Anatoly Bibilov, in turn, has noted that saber rattling has always been a kind of trump card for Georgia.
“Well, they are conducting exercises let them to conducting them. Referring to the agreements with Russia, we are firmly convinced of the absolute security of our Republic. The Russian Federation is a strategic partner for us. We are conducting the same exercises on the territory of our Republic together with the Armed Forces of Russia. And these exercises in Georgia? Well, the guys met, ran through the fields, over the mountains. Well, what to do, let them run,” said President of South Ossetia.
Anatoly Bibilov has noted that this is not reflected in South Ossetia in any way, they feel calm and confident in the Republic.
“There are all opportunities to react to possible provocations that may be from Georgia. There are forces and means for this, and the reaction will be absolutely proportional,” concluded the head of the South Ossetian state.
