President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, Governor of the Samara Region Dmitry Azarov and Acting Head of North Ossetia-Alania Sergey Menyailo laid flowers at the monument to the founder and first governor of Samara, Grigory Zasekin.
The day before, Anatoly Bibilov and Dmitry Azarov held talks, discussed issues of cooperation in the field of culture, education and economics.
According to the press secretary of the head of state Dina Gassieva, the events are being held in Samara on Sunday to mark the 435th anniversary of the city of Samara.
"I am very pleased to be here today, to congratulate all of you on the 435th anniversary of the city of Samara. Ossetia is very much connected with Samara, despite the great distance. Children from South Ossetia enter Samara higher educational institutions. Today the weather contributes to the festive mood. all and success in everything,” Bibilov said.
He has noted that the last time he was on the fertile land of Samara was five years ago. “Arriving this time, I saw a completely different Samara - new facilities, the Embankment. The Friendship Park is opening today,” the President noted.
As part of the events, an ethnocultural complex "Peoples' Friendship Park" will be opened.
