During his working visit to the Italian Republic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev met with the Secretary of the National Association of the Italian Anti-Fascist Partisans (ANPI) Milena of Russia and the head of the veterans' council of the organization Luciano Tribbi. According to the press service of the Republic's Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held in the city of Pesaro.
The meeting discussed issues of the fight against neo-fascism. Dmitry Medoev drew attention to the unacceptable facts of distortion of the history of World War II, which have been observed recently, and called for the unification of efforts of all healthy forces against these negative trends.
The Minister gas also noted the symbolism of the meeting held on the day when South Ossetia has marking the anniversary of the beginning of the resistance movement of the Ossetian people against the Georgian fascism in 1989.
The meeting took place in the open and sincere atmosphere.
Dmitry Medoev is accompanied on the trip by the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia in Italy Mauro Murgia.
The ANPI, the association founded by members of the Italian resistance against the Italian fascist regime and the subsequent Nazi occupation during the World War II in Rome in 1944, has survived thanks to the activity of its anti-fascist members.
