A meeting of the joint commission of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation on the implementation of the agreement on the mutual recognition of documents confirming the fact of establishing disability for military personnel of the Ministry of Defense and employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of both states who were injured in connection with military service in South Ossetia was held on Thursday in Tskhinval.
According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, for the Russian part the meeting was attended by: Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Alexey Vovchenko, Director of the Department for Disabled People of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Dmitry Ligomina, for the South Ossetian part – by Deputy Minister of Health and Social Development Naira Siukaeva, Head of the Departmenti of Legal Support and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Artur Siukaev, the head of the State Budgetary Institution of the Ministry of Health of the Ministry of Health Dmitry Dzhussoev, as well as a number of other official representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and South Ossetia.
During the meeting in the government, which was held in the format of video communication, the issues arising in connection with the application of the provisions of the Agreement were discussed, further steps for its implementation were coordinated.
As noted, the mutual recognition of documents confirming the disability of dismissed military personnel and employees of the internal affairs bodies will allow them to choose pension benefits in accordance with the laws of South Ossetia and Russia, depending on their place of residence which will have a positive impact on the social status of this category of citizens.,.
At the moment, the work is underway to coordinate mutual interests, positions and actions necessary for a clear legal understanding and consolidation of the mutual rights and obligations of the parties to the Agreement.
The Law of the Republic of South Ossetia "On the ratification of the Agreement between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation on the mutual recognition of documents confirming the fact of establishing the disability of persons dismissed from the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia, and persons dismissed from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation ”was signed in March 2020 in Moscow.
The main task of the joint commission is to monitor and ensure the effective implementation of the Agreement.
