A ceremony of commissioning a new power transmission line of strategic importance for the Republic is taking place in South Ossetia on Friday.
The event is being held with the participation of officials of the Republic, headed by President Anatoly Bibilov, the guests from Russia who are on a working visit to Tskhinval.
According to Anatoly Bibilov, the backup power line is of strategic importance for the Republic and its launch will ensure uninterrupted power supply.
The construction of the additional power line to South Ossetia was carried out by the Federal Grid Company of the Russian Federation within the framework of the Investment Program for the Promotion of Socio- Economic Development. The investments in the project amounted to 1.7 billion rubles.
