During the meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Abkhazia to the Republic Alan Elbakiev noted the importance of the work being done to coordinate efforts in the interests of strengthening regional stability and security, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia reported.
“During the conversation, the parties discussed the state and prospects for further development of traditionally friendly South Ossetian-Abkhaz relations, including maintaining an active confidential political dialogue, increasing the effectiveness of mutually beneficial cooperation across the entire spectrum of areas of mutual interest, noted the closeness and coincidence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia's approaches to the main problems international agenda,” the press service said.
The Ministry noted the progressive dynamics of contacts at various levels this year in the context of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, emphasized the importance of the work being done to coordinate the efforts in the interests of strengthening regional stability and security.
"The meeting participants confirmed their readiness to continue interaction between the foreign affairs agencies of the two countries within the framework of the Consultation Plan for 2021 - 2022 signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Abkhazia," the press service said.
