President Anatoly Bibilov has been revaccinated against coronavirus infection, the presidential press service reported.

On Tuesday, the head of state came for revaccination to the polyclinic of the RMMC in Tskhinval. After revaccination with the Russian Sputnik Light vaccine, Anatoly Bibilov is feeling well and continues his working day in accordance with his schedule.

The President noted the importance of mass vaccination as the only way to stop the spread of COVID-19. He has reminded that vaccination is needed to protect not only ourselves, but also those around us.

“If a person considers himself responsible to society, then he will be vaccinated. It is about our safety, about life, about the health of our relatives. I was vaccinated with the second component of Sputnik-V on July 16, 2021, now I have been revaccinated with Sputnik Light.

I urge everyone to take this disease more seriously and be vaccinated, this is the only and the most reliable way in the fight against COVID-19. The low level of vaccination in the Republic leads to dangerous consequences. About two hundred deaths have been recorded on the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia, this statistic should alert everyone, for our small nation this is a very large figure. It is important to protect yourself, especially for older people,” said Anatoly Bibilov.

Director of the RMMC Vitaly Dzhioev, who was present at the procedure, told the President about the situation with the incidence of coronavirus infection in South Ossetia and the pace of vaccination.

“The President has shown by his own example that it is important to take responsibility for ourselves and the people around us and be vaccinated on time. To date, approximately 1,600 people have been vaccinated in South Ossetia. We issue a certificate of vaccination, which records the dates of the introduction of the vaccine. This document is recognized in Russia, but due to the lack of QR codes, many of our fellow citizens travel to North Ossetia and get vaccinated there.

Currently, Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Republic of South Ossetia is negotiating with the Russian Federation on the issuance of QR codes. This will be another impetus for people to become more vaccinated,” he said.
