South Ossetia received the news of the recognition of the independence of Donetsk and Lugansk by Russia with particular joy, and is fully supporting the correct decision of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, said Madina Plieva, the head of the Fund for the wounded who became disabled during the hostilities in South Ossetia from 1989 to 2008.
Plieva has reminded that it was the Republic of South Ossetia that was the first state to recognize the independence of the Donetsk People's Republic and the Luhansk People's Republic.
“All these years we have been following the development of the situation in these republics, we are experiencing and sympathizing with our brothers. Yet fascism has no nationality. Who else but we know better the value of life? The destruction of civilians, including women and children, is nothing but a real genocide. The South Ossetian people had been periodically subjected to genocide by Georgia for several decades. These are brutal murders, and citizens buried alive, ruthlessness and cruelty shown by Georgian fascism against the civilian population of South Ossetia. To achieve their insidious goals - to wipe out people of the Ossetian nationality from the face of the South Ossetian land - the Georgians resorted to the most sophisticated and insidious methods. But we were able to survive and win, thanks to the support of the Great Russia,” the head of the Fund believes.
In her opinion, after the recognition of the independence of the DPR and LPR, the Donetsk and Lugansk residents will begin a new, peaceful life, where there will be a place for development, formation, creation ...
“We have developed very friendly relations with these republics, there is close cooperation with the colleagues from the DPR and the LPR through organizations that support the wounded who became disabled during the hostilities. More than once, representatives of our organization took part in the public holidays of the two republics. In addition, with the direct participation and support of the President of South Ossetia, Anatoly Bibilov, we were able to solemnly erect a monument to the fallen heroes of the DPR from the war invalids of South Ossetia.
During the trip to Donetsk, according to Plieva, they saw a heavy picture of a military city. “We visited hospitals, where there were many wounded, and heavy ones. Each of them with his own terrible and at the same time heroic story. Our guys expressed words of support and hope to them, because who else knows the price of life and the pain of military wounds. The difficult war years, devastation, constant readiness to repulse the aggressor, South Ossetian hospitals, etc. have again risen before our eyes. Even time does not heal the wounds,” she has recalled.
Madina Plieva has added that they intend to install another memorial monument in Luhansk. The event was planned earlier, but, unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic, they were forced to move the dates.
“We will definitely implement our plans; we will continue to cooperate with the recognized republics - the DPR and the LPR. Peoples of the two republics have turned the military page of modern history, and ahead of them is a peaceful life aimed at development and construction in all spheres of life,” Plieva stressed.
