Against the backdrop of the military-political situation in the Ukrainian direction and the conduct of a special military operation to ensure the security of the LPR and the DPR, the State Security Committee of South Ossetia has recorded increase in nationalist and neo-Nazi sentiments in Georgia. This is stated in a statement released by the press service of the KGB of the Republic on Monday morning.
"Thus, after the formation of the so-called International Legion of Territorial Defense, announced by the Ukrainian authorities, where foreigners can join, two thousand aggressive Georgian volunteers from the radical supporters of M. Saakashvili expressed a desire to join" the fight against the occupation of Ukraine ". This fact once again testifies that the Tbilisi regime, instead of recognizing its responsibility for the crimes against humanity committed from 1920 to 2008, supports the Ukrainian Bandera, nurturing its own revanchist goals," the statement says.
At the same time, the KGB notes, "support for neo-Nazism in Georgia is realized with the tacit connivance of special and law enforcement services, which, by their inertia, create serious prerequisites for an escalation of tension in relations between South Ossetia and Georgia."
In this context, the KGB reminded that all military border facilities of the Georgian Defense Ministry, as well as possible directions of penetration of violators of the state border are located in the control zones and impact sectors of the border forces of the Republic of South Ossetia.
