Sanctions against Russia will affect, among other things, South Ossetia, since both countries represent a single political and geographical space. The head of the South Ossetian state Anatoly Bibilov stated this live on Instagram.
“All products that we do not produce here in the Republic come to us only through the Russian Federation, and, without a doubt, sanctions against Russia will affect us. They are directed against the Russian Federation not because there really is a need for it, but in order to weaken it,” the President said.
According to him, South Ossetia, together with Russia, will be able to withstand the current realities associated with the sanctions policy.
"The measures that are being taken in the Russian government and here in South Ossetia, let's say, linking the processes in the Russian Federation with the processes in our Republic, will allow us to get out of this situation. We are together, we will break through and be stronger," the President stressed.
