Three volunteers from South Ossetia, participating in the Russian operation on demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, saved a woman in Volnovakha, who had been in a cellar for seven days, under the ruins of her own house.
"Six hands of God came to the aid of Natalia and pulled her out from under the rubble," says Elena Bazzayeva, an assistant to the deputy of the People's Council of the Donetsk People's Republic, chairman of the Board of the NGO "Community of Alania" of the DPR, about the feat of the South Ossetian guys with the callsigns Shirim, Radick and Negr.
“In the region where the hostilities are taking place, there were our guys who were performing combat missions to clear the territory from the enemy element. It so happened that they got in touch with me on Saturday, showing this sheet. This is the diary of a woman who was under the rubble and was rescued. The guys really saved her life, she no longer hoped that they would dig her up and find her. To her joy, she made the last entry on this sheet: Ossetians came and saved me. Thank you!” said Bazzaeva.
The text of Natalia's letter, whom the South Ossetian volunteers pulled her out of the rubble:
- March 13. The 18th day of the war. February 27 was the last day I saw my mother. Since then, I am alone in the cellar. On the way out, the roof fell off. I tried to disassemble the floor – I could not to do it. I have to wait for people. A cat and a dog are periodically looking into the ventilating pipe. I see their faces, talking to them and crying. I ask them to call someone for help, but they do not understand. I am praying. At night, my head was very itchy. dirty and I combed it to wounds. I thought, there were lice. It was a hell of a feeling. I got up at night, heated water, cut my hair with a knife and washed it with soap. The itching didn't stop for a while. The wounds were baked. Then somehow fell asleep after prayers. Shells were rumbling in the distance. My house has not been bombed for 3 days Thank God.
- March 14th. I was trying to break open the floor to get out, screaming, calling for help - in vain. Through the cracks I saw that the cellar seemed to have been specially closed by someone so that they would not find me: heavy boxes from under the bed lie right on the manhole cover and bags with branches and bottles and clay. In general, I cannot lift such a weight. I am tired. I'm going to sleep. 13 o'clock 38 min.
- March 15 lunch. Today is not as sunny as the previous 2 days. The sun does not shine through the chimney. There is no opportunity to admire the rays, but the sky is clear. I want to lie in a warm blanket and do nothing. There is no moral strength to try to open the hatch. Some shots are constantly heard, but not close. Mishrka is alive. I gave him a few bagels (with the plank through the pipe).
–March 16. Almost no shooting. From time to time the soldiers are shooting something - fences, probably single shots. I tried to get out again, punched a hole - I saw that the ceiling was crumbling to shingles and bricks, the floor slabs. Everything is very heavy. I was calling for help, there is no one. I will not get out on my own. Unless the whole floor is gouged.
- March 17, 6 a.m. As usual, something flew in and threw off a projectile in the distance, and that is so all the morning.
- March 18. The night was quiet. I don't know if I'm sleeping or not. Insomnia. I am praying for everyone. The kitten is playing sometimes. I feed Mishka with bagels from the pipe. Everything is sad as usual.
- March 19. Saturday, at dawn there were fighting in the distance. For 10 hours I am crying and calling for help. I am praying. The Ossetians came and saved me. Thank you!".
