Hundreds of citizens of the Republic and shop owners joined the collection of humanitarian aid for the military personnel sent from South Ossetia to the special military operation of Russia to protect the population of Donbass, organized by the initiative group in Tskhinval.
The collection of aid for fighters from the Republic, organized by residents of Tskhinval - Polina Ostaeva and Alena Kozaeva, started on Monday.
“Many volunteers are coming tom bringing things. They call and ask what exactly needs to be collected. Our collection will continue until Friday, after which we will send the collected products and things to our defenders,” Polina Ostaeva, one of the organizers of the collection, told the IA “Res”
She toled about what the military needs most of all.
“Our guys are helping in difficult conditions, now it is very cold on the front line. They do not have enough warm clothes, rubber boots. They really need medicines, in particular, painkillers, thermal underwear, gas burners and products with a long shelf life: crackers, tea, coffee, sugar. They also need walkie-talkies and unloading,” added Ostaeva.
According to her, residents of the Republic approached the gathering with great responsibility and are taking an active part in it.
“There are a number of metropolitan stores, for example, Zenit, Svet, Yablochko, Bagheera, which brought a lot of products and personal hygiene products. A shop "Bagiata" on the street. Putina (former Moscow) provided packages of mineral water. The residents of the Tsarz micro district, Isak Kharebov Street, also brought many things. One man, whom we call a "kind grandfather" because he wished to remain anonymous, gave the amount of money to the girls from the Tsarz micro district, who purchased medicines. It is impossible to list them all, there are many benefactors,” Ostaeva has noted.
During our visit, a resident of the capital, Inna, also came to the collection point to make her contribution to help Russian and Ossetian servicemen.
“I heard that in Tskhinval it is being organized a humanitarian fundraiser for defenders participating in a special military operation in Ukraine. Like many residents of our Motherland, I could not stand aside and decided to somehow support our guys, so I brought a few things., There is no such thing as someone else’s misfortune, all the fighters are our relatives. I hope that a piece of warmth and care sent to our guys from home will cheer them up a little,” said Inna and added that she was very proud of our servicemen.
Many residents are bringing things, writing words on the box with warm wishes and hope for the soonest return of the defenders home safe and sound.
The collection point is located on Stalin street, 50, from 12:00 to 18:00.
