The State Security Committee of South Ossetia notes the aggravation of the situation in the Pridnestrovian direction, as well as the intensification of terrorist activities by the security forces of Ukraine.
"There is no doubt that the indicated increase in tension in the post-Soviet space was staged in Washington and Brussels and is being implemented through puppet regimes in Kyiv, Chisinau and Bucharest. We do not exclude those Western countries will also involve their partners in Transcaucasia in these destructive processes," the special service said in a statement released on Tuesday.
In this regard, in order to early identify and localize threats in the external sphere, the Committee and its Border Service, together with the Border Directorate of the FSB of Russia in South Ossetia, have activated monitoring of the situation on the border with Georgia.
"According to intelligence information coming through various channels, at present the military-political situation in the Georgian direction has not undergone significant changes. Strengthening of forces and means near the territory of South Ossetia, as well as significant movements of troops and military equipment in Georgia have not been recorded," noted in the message.
