President Alan Gagloev has met with Deputy Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Farit Mukhametshin, who arrived in Tskhinval to attend the inauguration ceremony of the elected president, the press service of the head of state reports.
Farit Mukhametshin congratulated Alan Gagloev on his assumption of the office as President of the Republic of South Ossetia, assuring him of all possible support, and recalled that he had been an observer at the presidential elections in the Republic of South Ossetia, noting the high level of the electoral process in South Ossetia.
“We will be happy to continue to develop productively and find common ground for joint work,” he said.
For his part, Alan Gagloev expressed his gratitude to Farit Mukhametshin for his attention and active participation in the presidential elections of the Republic of South Ossetia as an international observer, noting the interaction of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia with the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.
“We, of course, appreciate the assistance provided to our Republic by the Russian Federation, and direct this assistance to various spheres of life of the Republic of South Ossetia.
The program with which we went to the elections is aimed at improving the well-being of our population. The people heard and believed us, and we have no right to let down their expectations. We will ‘be purposefully implementing our program and hope for the support of our strategic partner, the Russian Federation,” the President said.
