Solemn meeting, round table, exhibitions: Independence Day will be celebrated in South Ossetia

In honor of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Act on the Declaration of Independence of South Ossetia, solemn events will be held in the Republic.

Acting Minister of Culture of the Republic Zhanna Zasseeva, told the IA "Res" that by the holiday on May 29, a solemn meeting "Independence bequeathed by ancestors" would be held in the capital of South Ossetia.

“A large exhibition is planned at the Anakharsis National Library, where will be presented photographs of people who lived in the era of recognition. The exhibition will also include documents. Lessons will be held in the museums of Tskhinval about the history of the struggle for independence, the adoption of the Act on the Declaration of Independence,” the head of the Ministry said.

According to Zasseeva, an exhibition of books published in the independent Republic will be held as part of the celebrations.

“It is also planned to hold a round table with the participation of scientists and historians. Activities for this festive event will also be held in the schools of the Republic,” she said, noting that the action plan will be approved after coordination with President Alan Gagloev.

It should be noted that on May 29, 1992, the Supreme Council of the Republic adopted the Act on the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of South Ossetia. According to the document, “the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia is indivisible”, and only the Constitution and laws of the Republic of South Ossetia are in force here.

On the basis of the Act, all state attributes were adopted, the necessary institutions of power in South Ossetia were formed.
