Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev sent a congratulatory message to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Faisal al-Mikdad, on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the recognition of the state independence of the Republic of South Ossetia by Syria, the press service of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic reports.
“On May 29, 2018, the Syrian leadership made a historic decision to recognize the state sovereignty and independence of the Republic of South Ossetia. This news, announced on a significant date - the Day of the adoption of the Act of State Independence, has become an invaluable gift for the people of South Ossetia, confirmed the correctness of the path to freedom and equality chosen by them decades ago, .opened new horizons of development for them, restored faith in a just world order," the congratulation reads.
According to Medoev, South Ossetia will always be grateful to Syria for its support, for the outstretched hand of friendship, for the strong bonds of brotherhood and alliance.
“Noting with pleasure the high level of cooperation that has developed over four years between our departments, I am firmly convinced that the continuation and deepening of comprehensive interstate cooperation is fully in the interests of the peoples of South Ossetia and Syria,” the Acting Foreign Minister has emphasized.
