Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Dmitry Medoev sent a note to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Vitaly Ignatiev with words of sympathy and support in connection with the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Bendery Tragedy.
"Three decades have passed since that terrible June 1992, which will forever remain an unhealed wound in the memory of the Pridnestrovian people. Hundreds of human lives, thousands of broken destinies, mass destruction - this is not a complete list of the terrible results of the Bendery tragedy.
Having faced with a deadly threat, people of Pridnestrovian showed great courage, bravery and resilience in repelling unjustified aggression," the Foreign Ministry said in the note.
Medoev has noted that the selfless feat of that heroic generation of Pridnestrovians today is the example of true patriotism for young people, the foundation of peace and prosperity in the beautiful land of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
"Dear Vitaly Viktorovich, on this mournful day, people of South Ossetia are sharing the pain of loss together with the Pridnestrovian brothers. I am sure that remembering the cruel lessons of the war, the peace-loving and benevolent people of Pridnestrovian will always protect and defend their desire for creation and good neighborliness," the note says to the head of the PMR.
