The Georgian citizen violated the state border of South Ossetia in March of this year was released on Friday due to the expiration of his sentence and transferred to Georgia in accordance with the established procedure, the press service of the KGB of the Republic reports.

"On March 26, 2022, in the vicinity of the village of Adzysar, Tskhinval District, for violating the regime of the State Border of the Republic of South Ossetia, employees of the South Ossetian border authorities detained a citizen of Georgia Kudzhoshvili Giorgi Givievich, born in 1994.

It should be noted that this person has repeatedly violated the regime of the state border of South Ossetia and in this regard was brought to administrative responsibility," the message says.

The KGB has noted that on May 20, 2022, the Tskhinval District Court found Kudzhoshvili guilty of committing a crime under part 1 of article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Illegal crossing of the state border” with a sentence of six months in prison in a general regime correctional colony.
