Russia and South Ossetia should jointly work out the issues related to access to archival data for studying the history of the Ossetian genocide, said Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Boris Chernyshov.
The theme of the video bridge Moscow-Minsk-Yerevan-Tskhinval-Sukhum was the priority tasks of the Russian Federation's humanitarian policy abroad.
According to the Vice-Chairman, the archives are the key story.
“If you don’t work with them, then you can basically write fairy tales. If there is no serious reliance on documents, then the history presented in books and materials will automatically be criticized - we must not allow this,” the speaker said.
As noted by Chernyshov, any publication related to historical truth must be clearly supported by the necessary links, data, photocopies of documents, and offered his assistance in this matter.
“The format of work in the archives is the most important and key way to support South Ossetian scientists. Printing books is not a problem, but the main thing is their content, the content of the historical truth, which together we will be carefully protecting,” he stressed.
On September 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the Concept of Russia's Humanitarian Policy Abroad. The document says that the priority of Russia's humanitarian policy abroad will be to expand cooperation with the CIS countries, Abkhazia, South Ossetia, the DPR and the LPR.
