Deputies of South Ossetia discussed the draft law on accession to the agreement on the Customs Code of the EAEU

The draft law of South Ossetia "On joining the agreement on the customs code of the Eurasian Economic Union" was considered on Wednesday at the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Industry, Construction, Transport, Communications and Natural Resources.

According to the press service of the legislative body, Ivan Slanov, Deputy Chairman of the relevant committee, chaired the meeting.

“It was noted that in March 2015, the Agreement on Alliance and Integration between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation was signed in Moscow. According to the Agreement, the Treaty was concluded between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation on the integration of the customs authorities of the Republic of South Ossetia with the customs authorities of the Russian Federation dated April 25, 2016. The procedure for the transition of the Republic to the application of the rates of the Common Customs Tariff of the Eurasian Economic Union and the rates of export customs duties in force in the Russian Federation is determined by a separate protocol to the agreement,” the press service said.

It was also indicated that the types and rates of customs payments applied to goods transported across the customs border of the Republic of South Ossetia, before the transition of the Republic to the application of the rates provided for in Article 2 of this law, will be established by the government of the Republic.
The discussion of this draft law will continue at the next meeting of the Presidium of the RSO Parliament.

Deputies David Sanakoev and Artur Tedeev took part in the work of the Committee.
