Employees of the Migration Department of South Ossetia checked the documents for the legality of the stay of foreign citizens on the territory of the Republic, as well as the availability of work patents, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of South Ossetia reports.
“During the raids, law enforcement officers also paid attention to their living conditions,” the department said.
According to the senior inspector, police captain Timur Tskhovrebov, the raid activities are aimed at identifying violations of migration registration by foreign citizens illegally staying (living) and carrying out labor activities in the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia.
“During the raids in the capital and districts of the Republic, we have checked 456 people. We check documents and carry out explanatory work with them in all areas - from the correct execution of documents to behavior in public places. We bring the offenders to administrative responsibility,” said Timur Tskhovrebov.
Most of the citizens come to the Republic from Tajikistan. This is followed by citizens from Uzbekistan, followed by people from Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The Migration Department monitors the entry and exit of citizens who fall under the category of migrants, carries out control and supervisory activities in order to strictly comply with the requirements of migration legislation. Upon entering the republic at the border service post of the RSO, each visiting citizen is issued a migration card and within three days he is obliged to register with the passport and visa service department. Citizens who wish to engage in labor activity apply to the Migration Department to obtain a work permit.
