Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia Akhsar Dzhioev commented on the situation with the Agreement with Russia on dual citizenship, which, among other things, regulates the issues of conscription of citizens for military service.
“The work in this direction is underway,” the Minister said.
It should be noted that residents of South Ossetia, who have citizenship of the Russian Federation and South Ossetia, began to be issued with conscription, at the customs point "Lower Zaramag" due to the partial mobilization announced in Russia.
The Agreement on dual citizenship between the Russian Federation and South Ossetia was signed in Tskhinval on September 20, 2021. According to the document, persons with dual citizenship do military service where they live permanently at the time of conscription.
