On Thursday, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin met with Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia Alan Alborov.
“Relations between our countries are of a strategic nature, based on the principles of equality, good neighborliness and mutual respect. We have a common history, we have a lot in common, and we understand each other well. Based on this, it would be right to develop inter-parliamentary ties more effectively, ”Vyacheslav Volodin said, according to the website of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
According to him, the matter is about the creation of a high-level commission between the parliaments of the two countries and the development of interaction within the relevant committees.
“We are approaching the signing of the agreement on the establishment of a high-level commission. We need to fill our dialogue with concrete content so that citizens see the return from their deputies and strengthen relations between our countries,” the Chairman of the State Duma has emphasized.
Strategic partnership
Alan Alborov said that South Ossetia highly appreciated the support of its strategic partner, Russia.
“We understand how difficult it is now for Russia to withstand the brunt of both the military operation and the process of restoring infrastructure in the liberated territories, the difficulty of integrating new regions in the conditions of unprecedented economic, political and informational pressure from the collective West,” said the Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia.
“We have passed the same path that the residents of the DPR, the LPR, Kherson region, Zaporozhye region are now going through. We are well aware of the policy of double standards and double morality. And we remember what it means to support Russia at a difficult, fateful moment,” he has stressed.
He also conveyed greetings from President of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev to the Chairman of the State Duma and invited Vyacheslav Volodin to pay a visit to the Republic.
