The delegation of the Parliament of South Ossetia, headed by Speaker Alan Alborov, will take part in the meeting of the Council of the North Caucasian Parliamentary Association. The event will be held on January 13 in Pyatigorsk, the press service of the legislative body informs.
According to the press service, during the meeting, topical issues of interaction between the legislative bodies of members of the North Caucasian Parliamentary Association will be discussed, as well as the activities of the state autonomous institution of additional education "Mashuk Knowledge Center".
“In addition, at the meeting of the Council of the North Caucasian Parliamentary Association, will be discussed the implementation of the Federal Law of Russia “On the Experiment on the Development of Resort Infrastructure” in the Stavropol Territory. Associations of legislative bodies of state power of the regions of the Russian Federation were created with the aim of exchanging experience in legislative activity, preparing joint legislative initiatives for submission to the State Duma, developing a common opinion in relation to draft federal laws, developing model laws of the regions of the Russian Federation.
The North Caucasian Parliamentary Association (NCPA) is the youngest among the parliamentary assemblies of Russia - its formation took place shortly after the creation of the North Caucasian Federal District in May 2011, it includes the legislative (representative) bodies of state power of the Republic of Dagestan, the Republic of Ingushetia, Kabardino-Balkaria Republic, Karachay-Cherkessia Republic, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Chechen Republic, Stavropol Territory. South Ossetia is the associate member of the Association with the right to consultative vote.
Among the main tasks of the NCPA are the coordination of the activities of the legislative bodies of the district, the strengthening of contacts, the promotion of the development of the rule of law, democracy, parliamentarism and federalism, the development of a coordinated approach to political, and socio- economic reforms, as well as the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The Parliament of South Ossetia became the associate member of the North Caucasian Parliamentary Association. The decision to join the legislative body of the Republic of South Ossetia was adopted by the fifth parliamentary conference of the Association on June 8, 2013 and contributed to the deepening and development of relations between the legislative body of the Republic of South Ossetia and the parliaments of the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the field of state-legal, socio-economic, cultural and interethnic cooperation.
