On the eve of the day of formation of the Border Service of the KGB of South Ossetia, President Alan Gagloev visited the border guards serving in difficult conditions on the Tsnelis section of the South Ossetian-Georgian border.
According to the Presidential press service, the head of state was accompanied by Chairman of the State Security Committee Oleg Shiran and Acting Head of the KGB Border Guard Service Valerian Alikhanty.
Valerian Alikhanty reported to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief the operational situation in this section of the border. According to him, the border guards installed information signs along the line of the state border.
“By the forces of the border post-surveillance, we completely control the area. In addition, we have a direct connection with the border guards of the Russian FSB,” he reported.
Alan Gagloev also examined the feldsher-obstetric station, got acquainted with the problems of the staff.
The head of state congratulated the border guards on the day of the formation of the Border Service and thanked them for their conscientious work, for their loyalty to duty and oath.
“The Border Service of the KGB of the Republic of South Ossetia plays an important role in ensuring the national security of the Republic and the tranquility of our citizens. Having familiarized myself with the situation on the spot, I can give a satisfactory assessment of their conditions. Of course, there are issues that we will be progressively addressing. This is a difficult but noble job - to defend the Motherland. I am sure that the employees of the Border Service will continue to make every effort to ensure stability and order on the state border,” he said and wished the leadership and all the personnel of the Border Service of the KGB of the RSO good health, success and a peaceful sky over their heads.
The President also presented the border guards with a thermal imager as a gift and handed them food packages.
