Issues of support for the special military operation participants, providing social and other guarantees to veterans and families of the victims should be a priority, and all possible assistance should be provided to them. This was stated by the Chairman of the South Ossetian Parliament Committee on Defense and Security, Atsamaz Bibilov, commenting on the message of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly.

He has noted that today the fighters, standing on the front line, being in the rear, are bravely defending our common homeland, "and we, in turn, must provide them with a decent attitude and protect their rights here at home."

“I, as the Chairman of the RSO Parliament Committee on Defense and Security, fully agree that it is to these courageous guys that our attention should be paid first of all, our all-round support should be provided to them,” the deputy believes.

Atsamaz Bibilov has reminded that President of the Republic of South Ossetia has already taken certain measures - a decree has been signed on measures to support the participants of the special military operation, conducted by the Russian Federation. He also said that the Committee on Defense and Security was already working on amending the law of the Republic of South Ossetia "On Veterans" in terms of strengthening the position of this category of citizens.

“I think that when they return home, they should also have the opportunity to participate in the life of society, work in various structures, participate in public administration, including they should have the right to be elected. Vladimir Putin outlined these tasks as one of the priorities of Russia's state policy. And we, as deputies of the RSO Parliament, are also obliged to protect the rights of our citizens participating in the special military operation,” he has stressed.

The head of the Committee has added that to this end, within the framework of his powers, he will initiate the issue of including the participation in the special military operation in the legislation on elections in South Ossetia as one of the valid reasons for absence from the territory of the Republic of South Ossetia for a certain time.

“In addition, I will raise the issue of including in the law of the Republic of South Ossetia “On Housing Policy in the Sphere of Accounting and Provision of Housing to Citizens” of a certain category of citizens entitled to priority housing for veterans of the special military operation,” Bibilov has concluded.
