Students of the South Ossetian State University are taking part in the Vitaly Churkin Moscow International Model UN , the press service of the University reports.
“Students of our university Diana Dzitsoyty and Kamila Yakubova are participating in the model UN at MGIMO. Model UN is a scientific conference in the format of a role-playing game, where students and high school students simulate the work of the bodies of the United Nations system," the press service said.
The conference is held in the six official languages of the UN (Russian, English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese).
Members are divided into 13 different committees corresponding to the UN committees. In each of them the agenda is discussed. The delegates represent their country's position on the agenda, then the delegates are divided into coalitions. They present preliminary resolutions, after discussion of which amendments are made. When all the amendment, have been made, a final resolution is drawn up, approved by all delegates.
