Ambassador of South Ossetia to Russia Znaur Gassiev took part in the conference "Club of Friends of Russia" at the invitation of the leadership of the International Children's Center "Artek".
According to the press service of the Embassy, the conference discussed the history and modernity of Russian diplomacy, the dialogue of cultures as a basis for mutual understanding and cooperation.
The welcoming speech to the participants from 52 countries, organizers and guests was sent by Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov. He noted the unique, inimitable philosophy of international children's friendship inherent in the Artek camp.
“I know that active, caring representatives of the younger generation have gathered here, both from various parts of Russia and other states. All those who do not stop at what they have achieved, strive to improve themselves, learn new things, invent and implement joint initiatives," the head of the Russian diplomacy has emphasized in the greeting.
Gassiev, in his welcoming speech, expressed his gratitude for inviting the delegation of the Embassy of the Republic to take part in the events of Artek.
The Ambassador has noted with special gratitude that young artists of the talented children's group from South Ossetia, the choreographic song and folk dance group "Kaft", took the most active part in the events of the festival.
Artek has been and still remains the most important multicultural educational platform for children from all over the world. The priority of its international status is the key to the development of the international children's diplomatic community as an effective mechanism for spreading the ideals of peace, friendship and cooperation,” the head of the South Ossetian diplomatic mission has emphasized.
Gassiev has also noted that one of the most important tasks of Artek as children's center of peace and friendship is the formation of a positive image of Russia in the international children's environment and the popularization of the culture and language of the Russian world.
Children of the planet should live in a multicultural, multinational and multi-confessional environment, in a world, the individual parts of which will be closely connected by economic, informational and cultural ties,” the Ambassador concluded his speech and expressed hope for the continuation of such a good and necessary undertaking in the future.
The event as part of the Artek Gathers Friends International Forum, which took place in the Livadia Palace of Yalta, was attended by representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the United Russia WFP, as well as foreign states.
