South Ossetia has given the last honours to the fighter Azamat Bestaev, perished in the special military operation

In Tskhinval, Azamat Bestaev, perished while performing his military duty in the zone of the special military operation, was given the last honours.

Condolences to the family and friends of the deceased were expressed by President Alan Gagloev, Chairman of Parliament Alan Alborov, Russian Ambassador to South Ossetia Marat Kulakhmetov, colleagues, relatives and friends.

A representative of the 4th Russian military base, where Bestaev served, has noted that Azamat was the example for his colleagues.

“During his service in the Russian army, Azamat was an exemplary serviceman, everyone looked up to him. He always represented his homeland with dignity and died heroically in the course of his task. Azamat will always live in the hearts of the servicemen of the 4th base,” he said.

Sergeant Bestaev perished on November 25 in the battles in the Zaporozhye direction. He was 28 years old. A three-year-old daughter was left without a father.

By the decree of President of the Republic of South Ossetia, Azamat Bestaev was awarded the Defender of the Fatherland medal (posthumously).
