A memorial evening dedicated to the defender of South Ossetia Inal Tasoev, perished in the first days of the Georgian aggression in January 1991, was held at the South Ossetian State University, the University’s press service reports.
“Like all his peers, Inal dreamed of a beautiful, dignified life, but his life was cut short by the insidious enemy who sneaked into his native Tskhinval on Christmas night,” the statement of the press service reads.
The event took place at the University Student Council. The evening was attended by Roza Valieva, a member of the Parliament of South Ossetia, a veteran of pedagogical work, the former director of Tskhinval school No. 5, Aza Bestayeva, teachers of the South Ossetian State University.
Inal Tasoev was killed in January 1991, when a significant part of the capital of South Ossetia was temporarily occupied by the Georgian gangs. He was one of the first to be buried in the courtyard of the Tskhinval School No. 5, where today there is a memorial cemetery for the victims of the Georgian aggression. The street where the defender lived is named after him.
