The State Security Committee of South Ossetia has initiated criminal cases against the state border violators - two Georgian citizens, the department's press service reports.

“On November 24, 2023, for illegally crossing the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia, employees of the South Ossetian border authorities detained the Georgian citizens Meladze Georgiy Semenovich, born in 1988 and Korinteli Dito Elgudzhaevich, born in 1994, residents of the village of Adzvi, Gori municipality,” - the KGB report reads.

These violators, while intoxicated, deliberately crossed the state border of the Republic of South Ossetia with Georgia in the vicinity of the settlement. Adzysar, Tskhinval district, the department has clarified.

“During the investigative measures, it was recorded that Corinteli had videotaped his illegal actions on a mobile phone.

Taking into account the fact of deliberate violation of the state border of South Ossetia by the State Security Committee, criminal cases have been initiated against the detainees Meladze and Korinteli under Part 1 of Article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal crossing of the state border"," the statement of the press service reads.
