Member of Parliament of South Ossetia, Chairman of the Republican Political Party "Nykhas" Zita Besayeva spoke about her working trip to Moscow for the IV International Conference "The Role of Interaction of Factions of Political Parties and Blocs in Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation of the CIS Countries."
"International conferences are an important tool in the field of international relations. These are not just organized events, but necessary political platforms where participants from different countries gather to discuss and resolve important issues of international importance. Undoubtedly, such conferences play a key role in the formation and development of international cooperation,” she said.
The organizer of the International Conference was the State Duma Committee on Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots.
It was attended by representatives of factions and blocs of the parliaments of South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Transnistria, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, leaders and deputies of all factions of the State Duma.
“The conference was dedicated to the Year of Volunteerism in the CIS in 2024.
Accordingly, the importance of developing the youth parliamentary movement, as well as increasing the number of joint international events and projects within the framework of youth policy, was discussed at the event. The delegation of Parliament of South Ossetia took part in the conference, held on December 12 in the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation,” Besayeva has noted.
According to her, the most pressing issues related to the country’s economic development, strengthening integration and unresolved problems at customs, which will be resolved in the near future, have also been discussed in Moscow.
“In addition, as part of the trip to Moscow, we held a number of meetings with all factions of the State Duma of Russia. The main goals of the trip of the South Ossetian parliamentarians were: discussion and further prompt resolution of pressing issues, mutual cooperation, development and implementation of joint projects with colleagues in 2024,” Besayeva has emphasized.
She noted that during the working trip, the Nykhas party agreed with Russian colleagues on the creation of the Joint Commission, which would include parliamentarians from South Ossetia and Russian colleagues.
“It will be created as part of the signing of a cooperation agreement between the parliament of South Ossetia and the State Duma of Russia, which was signed in October by Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic Alan Alborov and Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin,” the parliamentarian has noted. - The Commission intends to resolve pressing problems that arise from time to time at the Lower Zaramag customs.
After the New Year, the regulations on this Vommission will be approved.
Issues that concern citizens must be voiced, discussed, and most importantly, promptly resolved.”
The deputy has added that certain topics were discussed with each faction.
“And most importantly, issues related to the specoal military operation were discussed: how we will continue to provide assistance to the fighters who are heroically fighting and defending the interests of South Ossetia and Russia. And also about the necessary support for their families.
During the working visit, the Nykhas party met with Russian politician, human rights activist, deputy of the State Duma of the eighth convocation - Yana Lantratova, the parliamentarian said. “Issues of the social sphere, education, and healthcare were submitted for discussion with Lantratova.”
Zita Besayeva has noted that a decision was made on joint agreements, decisions and projects that will be implemented in South Ossetia.
“Our bright and enterprising youth will be involved in these projects.
Youth activities are necessary for the younger generation. These are the platforms where young people learn a lot of new things, discover interesting topics and develop their own joint projects with like-minded people,” she noted.
Ambassador of South Ossetia to the Russian Federation, Znaur Gassiev, organized a meeting for the Nykhas party with Chairman of the Moscow City Duma, Alexei Shaposhnikov, and the deputies.
“As you know, in Russia the Council of Legislators of Russia has been formed at the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, which includes representatives of all regional parliaments of the country,” the deputy said. - Shaposhnikov invited us, the South Ossetian parliamentarians, to take part in the upcoming Commission meetings in 2024. This is necessary to exchange experience and demonstrate the investment potential of the Republic.”
Chairman of the Moscow City Duma also made a number of proposals to deepen inter-parliamentary cooperation and invited us to cooperate within the BRICS+ framework.
It is planned to conclude the agreement with the Moscow State Duma.”
Besayeva noted the importance of the participation of Speaker Alan Alborov in the work of the 65th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia.
“At the session, the parliamentarians adopted a draft decree of the Supreme State Council of the Union State “On the budget of the Union State for 2024.” In addition, a plan of work and international activities for the next year was approved. The working visit to Moscow was really productive,” Besayeva said. - We intend to build a constructive dialogue with colleagues and achieve promising formats of cooperation. It is necessary to take a high-quality approach to the implementation of the agreements reached. The main task is to put all the outlined plans, goals and ideas into practical terms.”
