South Ossetia handed over to Georgia two citizens who had served their sentences for border violations

On Thursday South Ossetia handed over to the Georgian side two citizens who had been in prison for violating the state border, the KGB press service reports.

"Georgian citizens Korinteli Dito Elgudzhaevich, born in 1994, and Meladze Georgy Simonovich, born in 1988, detained on November 24, 2023 for illegally crossing the state border of South Ossetia, were found guilty by the Tskhinval District Court on February 13 of this year of committing a crime under Article 322 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal crossing of the State Border" and sentenced to six months deprivation of liberty," the statement of the press service reads.

The KGB has noted that on Thursday Korinteli and Meladze were handed over to the Georgian authorities in accordance with the established procedure.
