President Alan Gagloev presented the Hero of Russia Yuri Abaev with the highest state award of South Ossetia - the Order of Uatsamonga. Abaev arrived in Tskhinval on Thursday as part of their delegation of Russian investors.
The President also presented him with a premium weapon.
“Yuri Abaev glorified throughout the world not only his name, but also the entire Ossetia,” the leader of the Republic of South Ossetia has emphasized.
Gagloev has also awarded the Order of Honor to former chairman of the government of the Republic of South Ossetia, Yuri Morozov.
The President also awarded the Defender of the Fatherland medals to the chief of staff of the Alania battalion Ruslan Ostaev (Skif), Uruzmag Ostaev, Vazha Kochiev, Pavel Ostaev and Ashot Tsaturyan.
“Ashot is a citizen of our republic, who today, together with our brothers, is fighting in the special military operation zone. And it’s doubly pleasant that other nations are connected with our republic,” the President said.
Gagloev wished the fighters participating in the special military operation a speedy return home.
“Thanks to every special military operation fighter for his hard service. I wish that the special military operation would end soon and our guys would return healthy to their homes," Gagloev said.
