On Tuesday the delegation of South Ossetia took part in the funeral ceremony of farewell to Doctor of History Vladimir Kuznetsov, the press service of the Republic’s Parliament reports.
“The farewell ceremony for the Soviet and Russian historian and archaeologist in Vladikavkaz was attended by Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia Alan Alborov, rector of the South Ossetian State University Vadim Tedeev and the head of the South Ossetian consulate in Vladikavkaz Maurice Sanakoev,” the statement of the press service reads.
The scientist's funeral service took place in the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary (Ossetian Church).
Vladimir Kuznetsov was buried on the Walk of Fame.
One of the leading experts on the Alan history, died on May 5 at the age of 97.
Kuznetsov was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Doctor of History, the oldest archaeologist in the North Caucasus, a leading expert on the history of Alania, the author of more than 200 scientific works, the honorary citizen of the North Caucasus Federal District and North Ossetia.
