The active participation of the former head of the PMR Foreign Ministry Vladimir Yastrebchak in the development of the South Ossetian-Pridnestrovian relations and in strengthening cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries can hardly be overestimated. This was noted by Minister of Foreign Affairs of South Ossetia, Akhsar Dzhioev, in a telegram of condolences to Yastrebchak’s family and friends on the occasion of his death.
Vladimir Yastrebchak died on May 11 at the age of 44.
Akhsar Dzhioev has noted that an entire era of the Pridnestrovian diplomatic service is inextricably linked with the name of Vladimir Yastrebchak.
“I received with deep regret the news of the untimely death of one of the prominent representatives of Pridnestrovie, a true patriot and worthy son, politician and diplomat Vladimir Yastrebchak. An extraordinary, kind, sympathetic man of enormous spiritual strength and inner dignity, with extraordinary organizational and professional qualities, has passed away,” the telegram says.
Yastrebchak headed the PMR Foreign Ministry from November 28, 2008 to January 17.
