Tskhinval will celebrate the Russian Language Day and the 225th anniversary of the birth of the Great Russian poet, founder of the Russian literary language Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.
As reported to IA Res Zalina Tedeeva, president of the Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature of South Ossetia (APRYAL), Russian Language Day is celebrated in South Ossetia every year on June 6 and events dedicated to this date are held.
“On June 6, the entire Russian world celebrates the Russian Language Day and Pushkin Day. Our organization and the South Ossetian State University celebrate these two holidays every year. Traditionally, tomorrow morning we will come to Pushkin Square and remember the name of the great poet, express our love, reverence, respect, and admiration. "We will express our warmest attitude to the Russian language, which is our second native language," Tedeeva said.
She has added that as part of the celebration of Russian Language Day in South Ossetia, the winners of the annual creative competition held by the Association will be awarded.
"We have a good tradition of awarding schoolchildren and university students who have shown good results and achievements in studying the Russian language and literature at the Pushkin monument. A creative competition was held - an essay on the topic: Russian language and Pushkin in my life," Tedeeva said.
In South Ossetia, Russian is one of the two official languages, and various events are held in the Republic every year for the Russian Language Day.
Pushkin Day of Russia, also known as Russian Language Day, is celebrated annually on June 6, the holiday is dedicated to the memory of the great classic writer Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin.
