The South Ossetian delegation led by Chairman of the Government of the Republic Konstantin Dzhussoev, together with the head of North Ossetia Sergei Menyailo and other delegates of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Beslan tragedy, the press service of the executive body of the Republic of South Ossetia reports.
“Participants in the ceremony laid flowers at the monument to the “Children of Beslan” and lit candles in the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary,” the statement of the press service reads.
The monument to the “Children of Beslan” was built in August 2007. A mourning meeting is held here annually in memory of those killed during the Beslan school siege in 2004.
The South Ossetian delegation is in St. Petersburg to participate in the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which will last from June 5 to 8.
