Alan Margiev has been elected as the new Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia

Alan Margiev has become the Speaker of the Parliament of South Ossetia of the VIII convocation. He was elected by secret ballot at the first meeting of the Republic's legislative body.

Margiev's candidacy was the only one on the ballot for secret voting.

27 out of 34 deputies took part in the voting. According to its results, 26 deputies voted for Margiev, 1 against.

Alan Margiev is a representative of the Nykhas party. He became the 13th Speaker of the Republic's legislative body.

Deputies of the Parliament of South Ossetia of the VIII convocation gathered on Monday for the first meeting. President Alan Gagloev, representatives of the Central Election Commission and the government are present at the meeting.

The Parliament will also elect three Deputy Speakers by secret ballot.
