Many soldiers from South Ossetia were fighting for the freedom of Belarus - Gagloev

The freedom and independence of the Republic of Belarus was won and supported by the efforts of generations, the leader of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev, said in his congratulations to President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on the 80th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.

Gagloev has reminded that on July 3, 1944, the entire territory of the country was liberated from the fascist invaders; the beginning was made of the liberation of Europe and ridding the world of the “brown plague.”

He has emphasized that the Soviet troops fighting the enemy on the territory of Belarus included many soldiers from South Ossetia.

“Modern Belarus is a dynamically developing state aimed at constructively building friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the entire civilized world. We hope that the development of interaction between Belarus and South Ossetia will also have good prospects,” the congratulation published on the President’s website, reads.

Gagloev wished Lukashenko good health, new impressive successes in government activities, and peace, wellbeing and prosperity to the entire Belarusian people.
