South Ossetia will take part in the Caucasus Investment Forum (CIF), which will be held in Grozny from July 15 to 17. This was reported to IA "Res " by the Republic's trade representative in Russia, Taimuraz Goginov.
"We will present our investment projects, including those that have been implemented since last year. In 2023, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin drew attention to our natural resources. This project for the extraction and processing of natural stone is in the final stage, and commissioning work is currently underway at the enterprise," he said.
In addition, the products of the new cannery, which is also at the launch stage, will be presented at the Forum.
"The prototypes of the products of this plant, which will be produced on an industrial scale, will be presented at the exhibition. The South Ossetian delegation will also talk about projects that could be of interest to investors," the trade representative has added.
According to Goginov, this year's expectations from the Forum are high.
"We visited the venue where the event will take place and would like to note the warmth with which Chechnya greeted us. We felt the support and special love for South Ossetia. Our flag is waving over the exhibition, the venue itself is very modern, and we will be glad to start working with a large representative delegation of South Ossetia headed by President Alan Eduardovich on Monday," he has noted.
As added by Goginov, all the projects that the Republic will present are promising and attractive from an investment point of view.
"We will present wine, beer products, and our water. Each project is unique and competitive in its own way. As is known, our products are exported and occupy a worthy place on the Russian market, they are in demand and competitive," Goginov has emphasized.
The Forum will pay special attention to the tourism potential of South Ossetia.
"President of the Republic pays great attention to the support and development of tourism. At the Forum, we will show interesting presentation videos about tourism in South Ossetia. I am sure that this will become one of several starting points for development in this area," the trade representative believes.
Goginov has also noted the high potential of the CIF for attracting investment to the Republic.
"Participation in such an event is a great opportunity. We will tell a large number of foreign delegations about our tourism, the advantages of investing in South Ossetia, our capabilities. We have a great stand, which is located right opposite the Chechen stand, and I think that our main dialogue will be with the Chechen Republic," Goginov has concluded.
In 2024, the Forum will focus on the theme "Greater Caucasus - from sea to sea", focusing on the development of the North Caucasus District and attracting investment for accelerated growth of the region's economy and social sphere.
