A memorial plaque to Inal Gagloev, perished during the special military operation, was unveiled in Tskhinval. The ceremony was attended by relatives and friends of the deceased, neighbors, and the public.
A representative of the family Robert Gagloti emphasized the importance of perpetuating the memory of the soldiers perished on the fields of the special military operation.
“Our guys are always ready to show heroism and participate in special operations. No one will say that our defenders left a bad mark and Inal is an example of this. During the special operation, he showed real heroism, but, unfortunately, he was no longer able to return home alive. Today we can only remember him with kind words,” he said.
A representative of the 4th military base noted that fellow soldiers also remember and grieve for Inal.
“We were serving together for a long time with a man with a capital letter, who was an example for all military personnel, but, unfortunately, he died heroically during the special military operation. I am sure that Inal’s feats and merits will serve as an example for the younger generation. We will always remember and be proud that we had such a serviceman in the same ranks who gave his life for the future of Russia and South Ossetia,” he said.
Aza Bestaeva, a member of the Council of Veterans of the Republic, has shared that during the Georgian aggression in August 2008, Gagloev was served in Chechnya. Having learned about what was happening, he immediately went home with the guys and stood up for the Motherland.
“The events in Ukraine are similar to what we lived through. The civilian population was also exterminated there, and Inal could not remain indifferent. He even hid from his parents that he was going to the special operation zone and told them only on the day of departure. Inal showed himself to be an excellent combat friend and always went first on dangerous missions. When they entered the Azovstal territory, which was very difficult, a sniper was watching the guys. The first bullet hit Konstantin Pliev in the leg, after which our Inal was killed,” she said.
The neighbors also shared warm memories of the deceased.
Inal's family expressed gratitude to everyone who came to honor his memory.
Inal died during the assault on Azovstal in Mariupol on April 18, 2022. He is survived by two children. For his courage, he was posthumously awarded the South Ossetian medals “Defender of the Fatherland” and “For Military Merit.”
