On Friday, South Ossetian President Alan Gagloev held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Akhsar Dzhioev.
The Foreign Minister spoke about the results of his visit to the Republic of Nicaragua.
Dzhioev has reminded that, on the instructions of the President and in connection with the invitation of Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, the delegation from South Ossetia took part in the ceremonial events dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the victory of the Sandinista Revolution.
"This date in the history of our friendly country is of great importance," Dzhioev said.
The Minister said that the South Ossetian delegation had been received by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo.
"I would like to take this opportunity to convey to you their most sincere wishes. They are very warm and friendly towards South Ossetia, its people, and intend to continue cooperation in all areas in the future,” the diplomat said.
Dzhioev has noted that a meeting with the head of the Nicaraguan Foreign Ministry Denis Moncada Colindres also took place.
“Last year, he visited Tskhinval to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the 15th anniversary of Russia’s recognition of South Ossetia. We had a very constructive dialogue, and issues were identified that we will work on in the future,” the Minister has added.
Dzhioev also spoke about the meeting with the Adviser to President of the Republic of Nicaragua on investment, trade and international cooperation Laureano Ortega Murillo.
“He outlined to us in great detail the economic situation in Nicaragua, their export potential in terms of investment, conditions for business operations, and, in principle, they are ready to develop relations with us, to cooperate with us in the economic and other areas,” Dzhioev has emphasized.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the diplomatic missions of Russia in Nicaragua and Venezuela.
"The Ambassadors received us very warmly, paid us a lot of attention," Dzhioev said.
He also thanked the Russian Ambassador Marat Kulakhmetov for the assistance provided during the trip.
"All the meetings were very meaningful. Nicaragua is the second country after the Russian Federation to recognize our independence. We highly appreciate their noble determination and intend to systematically, step by step, develop our friendly relations with the fraternal people," Dzhioev has noted.
He also handed over a gift from President of the Republic of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, to Alan Gagloev.
