Enough time has passed since August 2008 for official Tbilisi to accept the existing realities and recognize the sovereignty of South Ossetia. This is stated in the statement by a representative of the RSO Foreign Ministry in connection with the statement of the Georgian Dream party.
The Foreign Ministry has noted that against the backdrop of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Georgia in October, the Georgian politicians are increasingly making various declarative statements regarding the status of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
"The ruling party of Georgia is no exception, speculating on the topic of restoring the so-called territorial integrity of the country in the fight for the electorate," the Ministry has noted.
According to the Foreign Ministry, such statements are intended exclusively for domestic consumers and fully reflect the emotions of the election campaign in Georgia.
